Established in 1996, the Greater Lansing Islamic School is a private elementary and middle school in East Lansing, Michigan, offering classes from Early Pre-K through Grade 8. The Greater Lansing Islamic School has met the criteria for educational quality established by the Cognia Global Commission and is hereby granted re-accreditation status which is valid through June, 30, 2027.

Our Mission

Our mission is to offer an excellent comprehensive elementary education that will enable students to be competitive. The school resources will be used to promotes the cultural, spiritual and intellectual heritage of Islam.

One of our goals is to develop the self-disciplinary skills that will enable students to be life-long learners, contributors to the betterment of human culture, and vicegerents on earth.

Our Vision

With guidance from Allah, we will ensure academic excellence for all students, and maintain high expectations for both students and educators. We will create and foster an environment, in which all children and adults are welcomed, respected, trusted and are an important part of the school. Our objectives and efforts will stem from an Islamic foundation of knowledge, good morals, justice and worship where students will learn to live balanced and productive lives as Muslims.
